Simcyp’s Head of Translational Science to speak at Dutch toxicology meeting

Simcyp News RSS

Date: 01 Feb 2012

Dr Iain Gardner has been invited to present at this week’s Dutch Society of Toxicology meeting on ‘Personalized Drug Safety’. This one-day event will be held at Leiden University on 2nd February 2012.

Dr Gardner’s talk is entitled ‘Simulating individual variability in pharmacokinetics as a risk factor for drug toxicity’. He will outline the background to in vitro – in vivo extrapolation (IVIVE) approaches before presenting specific examples of simulations exploring genetic and DDI factors that result in individual variability in plasma and tissue concentrations and discussing modelling and simulation approaches to link variability in drug exposure in plasma and heart with changes in cardiomyocyte action potential.
