Simcyp receives funding for joint research project
Date: 03 May 2011
Simcyp Limited has been awarded a European grant worth £100,000 over five years as part of a collaboration project. The funding has been awarded in response to the IMI call entitled ‘Drug / Disease Modelling: Library & Framework (DDMLF)’ which aims to address the significant gaps in the way knowledge is integrated within and across different phases of drug development.
The overall aim of Simcyp’s contribution is to work with other partners to provide the means to integrate existing software applications into a common workflow for data models used in modelling and simulation as part of the drug development process.
The full title of the initiative is ‘Drug Disease Model Resources (DDMoRe)’. The overall objective is to develop a common definition language for data, models and workflows, along with an ontology based standard for storage and transfer of models associated metadata. A drug and disease model library will be developed during the project and will be available as a public resource.
