Date: 30 May 2008

Professor Geoff Tucker’s retirement from the University of Sheffield is being celebrated today with a symposium entitled ‘Drug Metabolism & Pharmacokinetics: Past, Present and Future.’

Current and former colleagues make up the list of distinguished speakers who will be highlighting key stages of Professor Tucker’s career to date. Over 100 guests are in attendance at the event, which began with an evening meal for colleagues, friends and family on Thursday.

Several sponsors are supporting the occasion, including Abbott, AstraZeneca, GlaxoSmithKline, Merck, Pfizer, Servier, Takeda and UCB.

Professor Tucker will continue to serve as the Chairman of Simcyp, a position he has held since he co-founded the company in 2001.
