European Medicines Agency (EMEA) paediatric meeting
Date: 30 Jan 2008
Professors Geoff Tucker and Amin Rostami have been invited to present at a European Medicines Agency (EMEA) workshop. The meeting, ‘Modelling in paediatric drug development,’ will be held in London, UK, on 14-15th April 2008.
The new paediatric EU regulation and the consequent demand for paediatric studies have encouraged the pursuit of optimal techniques in the assessment of safety, efficacy and use of drugs in children. The main objective of this EMEA workshop is to present the modelling and simulation approaches which are relevant to paediatric drug development, and to enhance communication between the pharmaceutical industry, academia and regulatory agencies.
Professor Tucker, Chairman of Simcyp Limited, will be speaking during the opening session of the meeting, outlining current knowledge on developmental pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics. Later in the agenda, Professor Rostami will be presenting, ‘Using the knowledge of biology in prediction of clearance as the main determinant of drug exposure in paediatric population.’
The full programme is available to view on the EMEA website.
