Awards for Simcyp

The team at Simcyp Limited is proud to have received several prestigious awards over recent years. These include:

2010

‘The Queen’s Award for Enterprise’

This award has been made in the Innovation category and reflects Simcyp’s continuous development of modelling and simulation software for evaluating drugs in the safety of a computer. The Queen's Awards for Enterprise are the UK's most prestigious awards for business performance. The awards are made each year by Her Majesty the Queen, on the advice of the Prime Minister, assisted by an Advisory Committee of representatives of government, industry and commerce, and the trade unions.

2009

‘Outstanding Scientific Contribution to Animal Replacements (OSCAR)’.

An ethical science award from the UK’s leading non-animal medical research charity, The Dr Hadwen Trust for Humane Research. The OSCAR recognises the role the Simcyp Simulator can play in reducing, refining and replacing animal experiments.

‘International Innovation Award’

Presented to Simcyp Limited at the Yorkshire Forward Innovator ’09 Event

2008

‘Recognition of Advancement’

This accolade from Yorkshire Biosciences was presented by Professor Lord Robert Winston at a ceremony in Leeds which celebrated outstanding achievements in the field of bioscience and healthcare technologies.

‘Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacy’.

Awarded to Dr Trevor Johnson by the Neonatal and Paediatric Pharmacists Group (NPPG) in association with Mandeville Medicines. The award recognises published work which, in the opinion of the judges, has shown to have made the best contribution to improving the care of neonatal or paediatric patients. Dr Johnson was selected after publishing a paper highlighting the problems in scaling adult drug doses to children – an approach commonly used when administering drugs which are not licensed for use in children, infants and newborn babies.

2004

‘New Safer Medicines Faster’.

Awarded to Amin Rostami and Geoff Tucker by the European Federation for Pharmaceutical Sciences (EUFEPS).
